What did you type that created this output?
If you haven't already, you might want to run "sudo apt-get update" to
see if you can download the Packages files again.

Problem After App Upgrade
I simply updated the apps as I usually do by running sudo apt-get update &
sudo apt-get upgrade. Everything seemed to update/upgrade OK but then
there was this negative icon on my desktop (the No Enter sign) and this
message came up when I pressed it.
I shut down my machine, started it up again, tried to fix it by going to
Synaptic but got same message.

I ran the commands and it fixed the problem with the mergelist
