Default xfce4-mixer removes itself occassionally on panel restart

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfce4-mixer

Xubuntu Hardy Beta amd64
xfce4-mixer 1:4.4.2-2ubuntu2

The volume control plugin often "removes itself" from the xfce4-panel
when the panel is restarted. This can happen on logging into X or just
executing "xfce4-panel -r"

I always see this is Gutsy and is still happening in Hardy. I don't have
any error output at this time.

The volume control has to be added back onto the panel using add item
after this occurs
