Default ALSA error during boot

Good Morning,

for a few days now everytime during boot I get this error:

[ 42.591001] ALSA
/build/buildd/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-2.6.24/debian/build/build-generic/sound/alsa-driver/pci/via82xx.c:581:

codec_read: codec 0 is not valid [0xfe0000]
[ 42.597829] ALSA
/build/buildd/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-2.6.24/debian/build/build-generic/sound/alsa-driver/pci/via82xx.c:581:

codec_read: codec 0 is not valid [0xfe0000]
[ 42.604677] ALSA
/build/buildd/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-2.6.24/debian/build/build-generic/sound/alsa-driver/pci/via82xx.c:581:

codec_read: codec 0 is not valid [0xfe0000]
[ 42.611485] ALSA
/build/buildd/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-2.6.24/debian/build/build-generic/sound/alsa-driver/pci/via82xx.c:581:

codec_read: codec 0 is not valid [0xfe0000]

anyone any clue what this is about? My sound and video are working fine,
and booting older kernels, which I know didn't have this error before
showed me these errors too :S
I would really love to understand and solve this, so the boot only shows
me the blue bouncing bar instead of quitting the bar, showing me all the
boot steps in text because of this error.

Thanks!

Kind Regards
Linda

Hi, tis evening here, I removed alsa as I believe pulseaudio has

Default ALSA error during boot

Pulseaudio is not installed on my box.. I run Kubuntu HArdy/8.03 with KDE3
Have it here since 2 months or so, works like a charm..
Just this fairly annoying error popped up out of nowhere, I didn't
change hardware or anything, and it happens when I test-booted an older
kernel too..

anyone any idea where it is coming from? or how to solve it? Google
didn't help me here at all..

anyone?

Cheers
Linda
