Default Powertop causing issues with Cd-rom???

I followed a Powertop recommendation of disabling polling on /dev/scd0
which is the CD drive. Now, Automount doesn't seem to recognize when I
put a disc in and I can't mount a blank disk for burning to save my life.

Anyone know where to look to undo what Powertop did?

Though it seems counter-intuitive, type

$ sudo hal-disable-polling --enable-polling --device /dev/scd0
