James

PS

Maybe you haven't enabled all the repos?

# apt-get install librpm4
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree******
Reading state information... Done
Package librpm4 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package librpm4 has no installation candidate

Which repos do I need for this ?

Hi Derek

Go via

System -> Administration -> Software Sources

and check all the sources listed under ubuntu software. I am also using the
main server as I find the Aussie server set as default on my system tends to
lag behind somewhat. Then you should be asked to update the sources since
they've changed. Go back into synaptic and do the search for them
