I have Toshiba Satellite L40-17R laptop with RealTek 8187b wireless card. I use ubuntu 8.04, which doesn't recognize the card. I tired to download rtl-wifi source to compile it, but it fails, giving me an error in the compilation saying:
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.24-16-generic/build M= modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.24-16-generic'
* CHK**** include/linux/version.h
* CHK**** include/linux/utsrelease.h
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `arch/x86/kernel/asm-offsets.c', needed by `arch/x86/kernel/asm-offsets.s'.* Stop.
I looked on internet, but I found it's a common problem in the 8.04. I even tried to re-compile linux kernel, but it gave me errors when using 'sudo make menuconfig' command.
So, what's the solution for that?
Regards,...
Ahmed
