On the mirrors, they're in the same directory like the ISO files.

But I attached a copy to this message too. Of course, you shouldn't
trust this copy. ;-)

And in case anyone is wondering... the rc iso is different from the
final release iso.

RC:
ce1bbda2791623a842d95096243db835 ubuntu-8.04-rc-alternate-i386.iso

Final:
166991d61e7c79a452b604f0d25d07f9 *ubuntu-8.04-alternate-i386.iso

But I suspect that the RC is probably close enough that you wouldn't
need to download the final (at least until the mirrors settle down in a
few days) at this time, just do the normal online update/upgrade.

Actually, it's not so much a question of trust as one of the likelihood
that my download is the same as what's on the server.

If someone has compromised the iso on the server, he will also have
uploaded the accompanying md5sum
