Default most up-to-date instructions for installing android sdk on ubuntu?

i want to toss the current android sdk on my (fully-updated) 64-bit
ubuntu 12.04 system so i just want to verify some tested set of
instructions. i've found this:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AndroidSDK

and the only thing i'm curious about is that it claims that you can
use openjdk as opposed to sun's java. is that true? more generally,
is that set of instructions fairly solidly validated? thanks.
