Um... pardon my ignorance; I cannot read Arabic or any right-to-left script, but... why should it be flipped? It is pointing *down*, not right or left. -- Liam Proven • Profile: http://lproven.livejournal.com/profile Email: lproven@cix.co.uk • GMail/G+/Twitter/Flickr/Facebook: lproven MSN: lproven@hotmail.com • Skype/AIM/Yahoo/LinkedIn: liamproven Tel: +44 20-8685-0498 • Cell: +44 7939-087884 -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

I think hes talking of the styling, the box doesn't flow as it should do.

Can you please compare between two following pics and detect the difference:
If you can't see any difference, then focus on the button of drop-down list arrow. This button must flipped (button only) in right to left locals to display as the second pic (manipulated by GIMP). 2012/9/10 Wade Smart <wadesmart@gmail.com> On Mon, Sep 10, 2012 at 9:53 AM, Ibrahim Saed <ibraheem5000@gmail.com> wrote: > See this pic: > http://i.imgur.com/VBBeL.png > > I guess everything is clear now. > > > 2012/9/10 Liam Proven <lproven@gmail.com> >> >> On 10 September 2012 14:21, Ibrahim Saed <ibraheem5000@gmail.com> wrote: >> > Hi everybody, >> > >> > When I used Ubuntu 12.10 beta1 in Arabic local (right to left locale), I >> > found a problem. >> > >> > See these screenshots: >> > 1- http://i.imgur.com/w7l8M.png >> > 2- http://i.imgur.com/Lgo7s.png >> > 3- http://i.imgur.com/MEUnE.png >> > >> > This arrow must flipped in rtl locales. >> This last pic doesnt make anything clear. No, he's saying that the box around the arrow should be mirrored, which is exactly what the last picture shows. In the left image, the arrow connects to a non-existant text field to the left of the arrow. It should connect to the existing text field to the right of the arrow. -- Regards, Robert http://www.arumes.com -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

So what you are trying to say is not that the arrow is or needs to be flipped, but that the graphical box surrounding it needs to be flipped so that it joins up with the border of the list box? -- Liam Proven • Profile: http://lproven.livejournal.com/profile Email: lproven@cix.co.uk • GMail/G+/Twitter/Flickr/Facebook: lproven MSN: lproven@hotmail.com • Skype/AIM/Yahoo/LinkedIn: liamproven Tel: +44 20-8685-0498 • Cell: +44 7939-087884 -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

This frame has square corners where it meets the combobox and rounded corners on the outside edge. In RTL locates, since the image appears on the left of the combobox instead of the right, the rounded and squared edges should be reversed. -- Dotan Cohen http://gibberish.co.il http://what-is-what.com -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

The drop down arrow points down which is the direction that 'drop DOWN' is supposed to point. Left-to-right or right-to-left makes no difference to up/down.
