But it also begs this question:

kernel src code, could it be attacked in the same manner? I think users
deserve to know.
Well, it's pretty much like the same as the other exploits, and MS's
reasoning behind locking down the bios, IF one has no security rules,
the likelihood of a security threat is far greater that a box with
security measures in place. I have a few simple rules and that has been
fairly good. Ric
