Were there a reasonable workaround, I'd expect it to have made it as
far as that bug report now, so I'm afraid it's looking like your best
bet is one of a bad bunch - new text editor or mount nfs3.

Have you subscribed to the bug? Marking it as affecting you is all you
can do to raise its profile; the importance score is based in part on
the number of people who are affected.

Even better, The OP should subscribe to, & comment on, the upstream bug
[1].

This has been accepted as an issue upstream. This is the actual place
where comments would help.
