It sounds like you don't have deb-src lines in your sources.list.
Could you paste your /etc/apt/sources.list and files which end to
.list in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ ?

I do have deb-src lines for all repositories. Just the default
sources.list; sources.list.d/ is empty.
When I click the link provided by the update manager, the changelog is
always available with the latest changes.
