sound issue
 

I have installed ubuntu 10.10 in my vaio vpceg28fn,But the sound is coming simultaneously through my speakers and headset.my sound card is HDA Intel PCH │ Chip: Conexant ID 506e,can you help me?

That's a very old version of Ubuntu and is not supported any longer.

I suggest you try again with a newer version, which may well have
fixed the problem you are having.

Ah, right.

I suggest you try a LiveCD of 11.10 or the beta of 12.04 which is out
in a few weeks, and see if they fix the issue. If they do, put up with
it for a few weeks and then upgrade to Precise, the new LTS version,
out at the end of this month.
