In Ubuntu Desktop, network settings are not stored in /etc/network/interface, so it must be stored somewhere.
Are there any official steps describe how Ubuntu Desktop configure network?
In Ubuntu 11.10, there are several files related to network configuration:/etc/hosts mappings for host name to ip address
/etc/resolv.conf dns configuration/etc/network/interfaces network information setting
/etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf network manager configuration/etc/ppp/peers/provider ppp setting
Correct me if I'm wrong. :-)
