I like and use Gedit to write things big and small. I often write a
email like this one in Gedit and then when done I copy it to the
clipboard, and then paste it into an email on Thunderbird.
I'm done with that. But not really. If I minumize Gedit it is forgot
and when I try to turn off my computer it hangs. Will not turn off and
will not let me fix the Gedit problem. By experience I have learned to
use Ctrl-Alt-F1 and drop to init 5. There I have to login and then quit.
I think that since Gnome checks Gedit status, it should at least put
the Gedit panel that lets you decide what to do where you can use it and
let the computer stop.
