whats available?
whats my options?
a little bit of background:
I have a printer that canon well not write drivers for vista (64bit), I have reconnected it to the XP computer, hoping I did not need to install the drivers to use it across the samba network

----
use cups & samba
setup a 'raw' print queue to the printer using cups
share the printer via samba
use a native/standard print driver on Windows system that prints to the
cups server as a destination.

hang on cups is unix-centric
I have not seen a version of cups that can be installed on a windows system

If you are asking about print server software that you install on a
Windows system, you are asking the wrong list.
If you are asking about how to set up a print server on Linux that you
can use to print from a Windows system, then you have the answer because
all you need on the Windows system is the print driver for the printer
itself.
