My wireless mouse wouldnt do anything. Same with my keyboard. I never figured out what the problem was. I used several different mice all with the same issue. For me, it had to do with clicking something too fast - it was like the code stuck between the down click and the up click leaving the entire screen untouchable so the keyboard commands wouldnt work either. Something I learned was - as soon as I see any indication of a odd mouse - unplug the dongle receiver, reinsert it and go on. No problems since then. Speculating, I would say, the Window Manager is preventing Open windows from getting mouse focus. Unless you say otherwise, I have to assume you are using the default Ubuntu Unity interface. What happens then, when you log in, if you instead choose the Classic gnome interface? Assuming your system works that way, try creating a new user and log in as that new user in Unity, and verity that a default Unity configuration does not trigger this bug. -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

Yes, using Unity. Don't care all that much for it, functionally, although it does look kinda nice. I just haven't bothered to try figuring out how to undo it :)
I don't get a choice of interface. I have it set to auto log-in. It just starts to Unity. Created a test user account, wherein the mouse works perfectly, also under default Unity (again, no option) On Aug 13, 2011 11:29 AM, "Rashkae" <ubuntu@tigershaunt.com> wrote: On 08/13/2011 09:41 AM, Ben Cliff wrote: > > I spoke too soon. The problem somehow fixed itself after switching accounts... sweet.

I had a problem like this also.
I do not use wireless mouse. It seems that it was related to gpm (mouse support in tty (ctrl-alt-f1 until ctrl-alt-f6)). After disabling gpm problem disappeared.
