what is the appropriate way to start/stop/restart the mysqld
server under 10.04 ?

I guess its /etc/init.d/mysql start|stop|restart

just like in Debian.

I guess its /etc/init.d/mysql start|stop|restart

just like in Debian.

Thanks, that resulted in a "suggestion" that I use start
(Upstart) or service


so start mysql
gee that is easy.
