how to get a serial number of a tape drive given a device file
 

Hi Geeks,

I want a small C program which would give the serial number of a tape or a library given the device files.
Like /dev/sg*..
The program should take the /dev/sg* as input and give the serial number of that particular tape drive or library.

I am not sure of how to use the ioctl call to get that one done.
