I don't think that I would care for an Internet Explorer port as I
didn't like IE on windows.

Natty's updates put me at Firefox 5 as of late...I'm still not up on
Chrome - kinda irks me that I have to install a third-party extension
just to have a new tab be in focus once I've opened it...that's not an
oversight...that's just, well, crap. Still.

Opera is a decent browser. Although, I don't know if it has the same problem that Chrome and Firefox have.

Now that Mozilla Firefox has abandoned supporting their latest version more than a few months, what default alternative will Ubuntu use?
My understanding is that Chrome is doing the same (although not being so obviously arrogant about it), and that we will never see an Internet Explorer port.

I have Opera, Google Chrome and Firefox installed, but I rarely use
anything else than Opera. Maybe only because Opera is what I'm used
to, but I always get annoyed with something when I use another
browser. Of course there are problems with Opera, like there are with
all the other browsers (otherwise there wouldn't be any updates,
right…?), so nothing is perfect, I guess.

Opera has been around a long time, which goes towards its staying
power.* I run into it so infrequently in the wild though, that I don't
see Ubuntu turning to it.

If Mozilla would provide LTS (long term support) versions, then I don't think it would be such an issue - but they haven't even suggested that.* Just flatly declared they will EOL (end of life) all versions previous to the current release, providing 3 months of support, then starting all over.* [Chrome appears to be doing the same BS]
