Default Problem with tor

I've installed tor, tor-geoipdb, privoxy and vidalia from the tor repositories. *When starting tor from vidalia I get the "Connecting to Tor" progress bar which fills about 10% but then stalls. *I can "Stop Tor" from within vidalia and then restart, but still can't complete the connection.
Here is the message log from Vidalia:Mar 19 07:12:10.960 [Notice] Tor v0.2.1.30. This is experimental software. Do not rely on it for strong anonymity. Any ideas on why I can't complete the connection and get tor working?
