direction? have a jvc mini dv, works fine with kino. I have googled to
death on this, and only found dv2vloopback, but get compile errors for
gd, (not available with apt-get) any other hit is seriously out of date.

According to the INSTALL file, you need libgd2-dev but it isn't available
for Gutsy. If you search for libgd2 with synaptic you can find
libgd2-xpm-dev which might work instead.

hmmm. well i thought if i did an apt-get install libgd* i would have
found that, but never did oh well. found the libgd2-xpm-dev and
installed through synaptic. i realize this isnt a list for dv2vloopback
(they dont have one, or a forum hence why im here) i got further this
time, but still does not install for some reason. doesnt make the
install file.
steve@ubuntu-laptop:~/Desktop/dv2vloopback$ make

strip dv2vloopback

Copy dv2vloopback generated by the make command to /usr/local/bin or use
it from the location where you compiled it. Actually the Makefile is very
simple and there is nor rule to install the program.

hi, well I think im getting closer here, thanks for the tip. but, now
its looking for vloopback kernel module, and says its not available. I
think thats what gets installed when your suppose to run the "sudo make
install" that fails. but.., all is not lost, I see there is an email in
the readme file, I think Im going to fire something off to the developer
to see if we can figure this out. What do you think Daniel, can you
help us out on this one? Thank you.
