Default Issue installing Ubuntu

I have an issue getting Ubuntu to install and boot
correctly.

*

The setup of my HDD’s is as follows:

*

Primary IDE

SATA-0 (BOOT)

SATA-1

SATA-2

SATA-3

*

Ubuntu will install correctly but will not boot as it seems
to want to write the boot sector to the Primary IDE rather than to SATA-0

*

I’d welcome suggestions on how to get around this
issue.

Default Issue installing Ubuntu

I had this issue.

1. Try to switch SATA cables (for some reason GRUB would only read the first channel)
2. Edit your menu when booting and change hd1 to hd0. It may be slightly different.

For some reason, even when I install Ubuntu now, it still enters hd1, when it needs to be hd0. I have to change it manually in the
menu.list file.

It worked for me.
