Default Ubuntu Dose not work has errors

Hi

Ubuntu dose not work, two major reasons, the programs that you download
on add/remove do not work to the way they say they should.

Purchased a book two inches thick on Ubuntu commands, each time the same
command is used there is a different error or something else happens
which it should not and that is in terminal.

The threads you've started, you really did not include enough details
for anyone to help you all the way through. We are not mind readers.
I've asked for more details in the threads of yours I've answered,
with no reply from you.

"What does Windows have that Linux doesn't?" - One hell of a lot of bugs!

We need more information about what you're doing, or what you're trying
to do in order to help you. If things aren't working they way they
should and you're getting error messages, then the first thing to do
would be to explain what you're trying to do, what program you're using,
then copy-paste or retype the exact error message, so somebody can help
you from there. As it is, you're not giving any information that could
help someone help you. Don't just say you've got a problem...we
know...that's why you're here. Tell us what the issue is.

As it stands, nobody but you has any idea what's going on with your
Ubuntu, and that's how it will stay until you communicate more details
about your situation.

Again, to understand what you mean, you need to include more information
about what you're doing. I.e:
1. What version of Ubuntu are you using? (System > About Ubuntu)
2. what book are you talking about?
3. what exactly are you trying to do? (i.e. if running a program,
list the program. if trying to install something, state what
you're trying to install, and how you're trying to install it)
4. what is not working? (include any error messages you're getting)
5. Any other pertinent information (i.e. 'I messed with XXX file,
and now YYY doesn't work' or 'I installed XXX but now YYY
stopped working' or 'I had a power surge, and now XXX is
happening')

That is unfortunate... next time, please don't yell it.

FYI: This mailing list is full of regular Ubuntu users, not support
specialists, not people working for Canonical. If you want to talk to
one of those people, buy a support package. We here are just individuals
that attempt to share our knowledge and experience with Ubuntu by
helping others with their problems they're having.

I understand you're probably frustrated because you're trying to do
something that's seemingly simple, yet is not working for some reason
unknown to you. I understand it's a frustrating experience, but getting
angry, coming to this mailing list, and making statements such as that
will not help you get past whatever issue you're having. All it will do
is make people not want to help you. We're not here to 'sell' you on
using Ubuntu, so making statements like that trying to goad us into
helping you as though we were some sort of paid support will most likely
backfire horridly. we're just here to help out with little bumps along
the way, such as what you're no doubt experiencing.

Also, judging from your previous, messages, you appear to be trying to
back up your entire system for some reason. is this what you're still
having issues with? If so, why are you wanting to do this? what is the
overall purpose of these actions? The answers to these questions will
likely influence the responses/methods you get.

Hopefully this will have enlightened you in some way, and hopefully you
can get past whatever issue you're having. Best of luck!
