Default Can't mount external USB HDD drive :(

Hi all! Can someone help with such a problem ...

When i plug in my usb drive /dev/sdc1 is not generated at all!
Only /dev/sdc
This device works ok in 9.04. Everything ok with my kingston usb flash 4
Gb stick.
Also should notice that i had to install from alternate, cause desktop
installer didn't see my Seagate 320Gb sata drive(not usb, internal
drive)

But you should be careful with these commands because they might be
destructive to your disks data. If you have some means to backup it (on
an older ubuntu installation or another OS), you should!

You are right , sudo dmraid -E -r /dev/name_of_your_disk solved my
problem ! Thanks !!!
