The other day, I needed to print an address on a #10 envelope.
Amazingly, I found no Ubuntu software program available to do it easily.

I had to go use my old Windows Works program (v4.5) as I still have
Windows XP installed and Ubuntu 9.04 on a dual boot.

Start Open Office Writer.

Select Format->Page, select the "Page" tab, select "Env. #10" from the
drop-down list labelled "Format". Click on Orientation:Landscape and
then OK.

OpenOffice.org Writer will print envelopes.

Apart from OpenOffice, which others have suggested, you might look at
Abiword and gLabels, both in the repos.
