I think you're barking up the wrong tree. Tell us more about the symptoms. It's kinda interesting that it's .49, then .51 10 seconds later. Nothing suspicious before avahi withdrawing the address record in th logs. Any why does this happen every 8 to 10 minutes.? Very annoying during work Michael. -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

Not an avahi expert by any means, but I would think that avahi just reacts to the IP being lost. I would focus on the first part of your question, "why does my computer loose the "real" IP?" Could you please deactivate Avahi by editing /etc/default/avahi-daemon and rebooting? Then see if you still lose the IP -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

Very annoying during work So it happens when you are using the wired connection. Just at work? or at home too? Cable ok?
