I have 8GB installed in my machine. It sees it on boot and post shows 8192. I
have the 64bit kernel installed but ubuntu only recognizes 3.2GB. It seems the motherboard doesn't support more that 3.2 G and if not then i have been told that the rest of the memory has been reseved by video memory which I have nt seen any solution yet. I am using 3.2G only.. damn :( Paras. -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

Bios settings? -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users Have you check your BIOS that states there are 8GB installed on your motherboard? Could you specify your motherboard model and brand? As Rashkae stated video might account up to 1GB at top in certain cases but not 5GBs, so maybe you are running memory modules that aren't supported in your mainboard config or perhaps faulty ones. -- "It is human nature to think wisely and act in an absurd fashion."
