I wanted to install vmware on ubuntu. I untared the downloaded file yet I could not install the file formate given. I got this type of file : VMware-Workstation-6.5.1-126130.i386.bundle. * *Please, who know how I can deal with this file or another means of installing vmware.

Dear Sir,
I have installed ubuntu server and need to install desktop version.
I need to change the proxy server for connecting internet to download
the files
required for desktop installation.
Can you please let me know the steps which are required to manually
change
the proxy server settings using command line.

While you managed to follow this advice it would have helped further if
you had trimmed the mail to the relevant part. I'm sure that some people
ignore mails like this where it isn't obvious where the real info is. And
yes, sometimes that includes me.

Sorry, I don't know the L300 and which wifi card is installed and I don't
even know if all L300 have the same hardware. Can you tell us which card
is in your machine? If you don't know, please open a terminal and enter
this command:
sudo lshw -C network
Then paste the output to your reply mail.
