Default Does my laptop support WPA2? How to check?

How can I check if my laptop supports the WPA2 wireless protocol in
Ubuntu? Thanks.

I don't know if there is a way to directly check the available encryption
modes. But you can find out which card you have for WLAN. You can use the
command

sudo lshw -C network

if you don't know it already. I suppose Google knows where to find the
specs of your card including the encryption modes.

Do you know what kind of card is in the machine? Open a terminal and type this:

lspci
-Beau

Thanks, Nils, that was enough to get me the card specs and I googled
my way to the supported protocols. Have a great night!

For the archives:
The Dell Inspiron E1505 has an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG and it supports WPA2.

But are you sure the driver also handles WPA2?

Yes it does; I'm using WPA2 with this card right now to type this rely
over an SSH session in Ubuntu 8.10.

It does, I am connecting via WPA2 now. At least, the router is
configured to accept _only_ WPA2 connections, and I am in fact
connected.
