Default Compiz-git help please

Hello, I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 with compiz-git and whenever a new window opens it opens in the top left corner with the title bar under the task bar. I am using emerald, it is just very annoying that I can't grab the title bar to move it. I have to first move the window with Alt then I can move it normally. How can I stop this from happening? And don't say get rid of the top task bar, cause I want it there. Thanks.

Could you live with setting it to auto-hide?

No, but that's okay, I solved it.

Do you mind sharing your solution? I could use it, myself.
(then I could un-hide my own task bar.)

Care to tell the rest of the list how you were
able to do that?

Sure, All I did was go into the compiz settings manager and went to "Place Windows". I enabled it and went into it and under the second tab I made a new setting for the top setting box. And I checked the box that says "Keep in work area". That's it.

Hmmmm... I don't find a "keep in work area" checkbox, and had to "Add"
window names to the list and then set the value for top with a scroll
tool. We must be using different versions of Compiz.
