php5-common conflicts and provides php5-json
Package: php5-common
Version: 5.2.6-2ubuntu4 Severity: normal php5-common includes the JSON PHP extension. From the description of the pacakage ("Common files for packages built from the php5 source..") and the Debian convention it is not apparent why this should be a dependency, also, why should it conflict any other packages providing php5-json. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers intrepid-updates APT policy: (500, 'intrepid-updates'), (500, 'intrepid-security'), (500, 'intrepid-backports'), (500, 'intrepid') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.27-9-generic (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages php5-common depends on: ii libc6 2.8~20080505-0ubuntu7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii sed 4.1.5-8 The GNU sed stream editor php5-common recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users |

I know the system sent it to the users mailing list, but it never gets worked if it stays here. The right place to file bug reports is: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu That will give the developers a chance to see if they can fix it.
