Default Fw: Error compiling Kernel initramfs~!

Hi all,
I need yours advice on creating intramfs.

At the starting, I try to compile the UME MID kernel by*on my UME system (default kernel=2.6.24-18-lpia). I copy and paste the config.frame to the linux source package that I extract it from a tarball. After set the DRM as a module(DRM=m) using make menuconfig, and then I do:
make oldconfig
make install modules_install
After several times, it leaves (config-, System.map- and the vmlinuz- but not initrd.img- in the boot directory. So, I edit the menu.lst as below:
title********** Ubuntu 8.04, kernel
root*********** (hd0,0)
kernel********* /vmlinuz- ia ro boot=disk resume=/dev/sda3 ht=on quiet splash
initrd********* /initrd.img-2.6.24-18-lpia
This is not correct right? It seems like this will load the old initrd.img-2.6.24-18-lpia kernel instead of initrd.img- Then I try
# cd /boot
# mkinitramfs -r /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-18-lpia
With (lsmod) the drm is up but nothing attach to the drm.
Test setup as below:
Platform: Menlow
Kernel Version: 2.6.24-18-lpia
Anybody can help?
