Default broadcom wireless bcm4318 connection problem

hi all,
I have a notebook with a wireless adapter (broadcom bcm4318). I read
thoroughly the relevant pages in www.linuxwireless.org but couldn't find
an answer so I am writing this message to get help. I am having
connection problems with the module b43; I can connect to the internet
without problems but the connection drops unexpectedly even in good
signal conditions totally randomly after a couple of minutes and is not
established again automatically. With the old deprecated module
bcm43xx, I have no problems but it will be removed from the newcoming
kernels.
thank you

Hello,

What version of ubuntu do you run ?
Also, what kernel version do you use ?
Could you send the dmesg listing ?
Do you use NetworkManager to connect to a wireless network ?

$ dmesg

I have the same wireless adapter. I have no problems with b43 driver.
It works very good.

Default broadcom wireless bcm4318 connection problem

The firmware you have installed is not supported any more.

[ 59.872769] b43-phy0 debug: Loading firmware version 351.126
(2006-07-29 05:54:02)

You need to install at least firmware version 4.80.53.0 .
