1. I do have sound on my laptop
2. In audacity I went to generate+noise+play and infact sound was loud and clear.
3. Went to monitor+gnome-volume-control Choose change device and checked samsonCO1U (alsa)(is this my problem?)
Should I not be configuring somewhere? Advise
4. In SPM went to search, choose alsa to determine for you in judgement if I have a conflict.
5. I have packaged alsa base-alsa-oss and alsa-utils
Any thoughts
Thanks
Allen

OSS is the default sound server.* You might want to choose Alsa.* Audacity is pretty straight forward and works quite well.* I've been backing up vinyl with it.

iscuss] Audacity & sound
I loaded audacity into 8.04 configured the mike and expected it to work as in windows, but obviously I need a audio
editor or some such. I have sound loud and clear, but not in audacity. What am I missing or what have I not done that I should have.
Thanks
