I don't know, but it seems that I am using your valuable time and
perhaps my machine is not good for direct rendering. May be I have
to live with it.

Well, I don't mind the time. But this one has me totally stumped &
perhaps it's time for you to file a bug on launchpad.
One last question though: can you boot up with the liveCD and see if you
get dri with that?
