Default Looking for a Picture Management Program

For an unusual solution to this, check the GiffMex.org site.* There is a TiddlyWiki written by the owner for sorting and storing pictures with captions, etc.

If you aren't familiar with TiddlyWiki, it's a very very flexible little program that uses easy linking (like the old HyperCard program) to sort, store and retrieve information.* The GiffMex.org site has a couple of very clear tutorials.* WikiPedia is based on this same type of technology.

NB:* you may have noticed the odd way I configured some of the words, above, ie GiffMex, TiddlyWiki, HyperCard, and WikiPedia.* There are extra upper case letters.* If you use this configuration in TiddlyWiki, the word is turned into a hyperlink, and you can fill in the link information later.

So web browser dependent, not a good solution I suspect. I took a
look at GiffMex.org and their photos appear to be on flickr, nothing
to do with TiddlyWiki. GiffR is 'abandoned'.

I use various wikis for other things but image organisers they are not.

Err, um, that's a rather basic/fundamental wiki'ism (for most wikis).

What's wrong with Digikam or F-Spot? They are designed specifically
for organizing images.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
