Hello All.

As has been discussed before, there is a lack of documentation for
Studio work on Ubuntu.
What does this have to do with me, I hear you say?

YOU can help with this. Do you have a favourite guide for an
application? Can you write a good how to?

Then please do head over to the wiki
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuStudio) and write a "How to"
or just link to existing documentation in the "Upstream Links"
section.

Feel free to add to any of the sections in the community documentation
section - it is a wiki after all

I look forward to seeing your contributions.

Jussi

Thanks for the post Jussi
I am a little confused as to exactly what UbuntuStudio is. It's repositories
appear to now be drawing on the Gutsy repository. The real time kernel in
Gutsy seems to sync real fine with " Jack " and the other high resolution
audio packages. Is it just another name for the same thing, aside from maybe
a little window dressing?

I am trying to get a conference presentation on setting up an edubuntu
thin-client approved and would like to attach a PDF of some
setup/install documentation. I know there is some info on the wiki but
didn't know if there was anything semi-professional available that
would work as a nice handout. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

Thanks,
Jim

The Edubuntu Handbook would probably be the closest to what you're
thinking. I don't know of a PDF version of it, but it would be nice to have.

Here is one - not mine, I did find it with Google:

http://www.hunterhollow.com/handbook.pdf

It seems dated as January 2, 2008.

Best Regards Asmo Koskinen.

Hi there.

Can anybody recommend a good documentation with examples or maybe a good
tutorial on SELinux?
I suppose I got a bit of a lack in basic knowlegdge on things concerning
SELinux.

Thanks and many kind regrads,
Markus

Good places to start, read the journal from the beginning. The IBM page
is useful and provides other references at the bottom. There is a
documentation project on going but I don't remember the expected
completion date off hand, its aimed at beginners and sysadmins if memory
serves, drafts get bounced off SELinux mailing list about once a week.
If you don't know anything about it then I think the dan walsh's live
journal is a good place to start. Also the NSA website:

www.nsa.gov/selinux/

And the fedora docs:

Hi all, I was just working on the "Basics" section of our Documentation.
It is anything but basic for our target users. I suggest we change the
name to Linux Basics, which seems much more precise. Perhaps linux for
the filename.

If it is not for the target audience, why have the section at all?

I didn't mean that the file was not meant for the target audience, but
that our target audience will not find the file "basic". I feel that it
needs to remain, along with the cli file, for those who want to dig
under the shiny GUI we provide.

Also, can someone who is running Kmail2 check out the Communication
file? It's written for Kmail(1), and I see we've changed to 2. I run
Thunderbird now.
