Default FYI 1, 2, 3... testing...

FYI.

You might know this all, but to me this all is new and exciting.

XVidcap (mpeg), Kino (flv), Wordpress and Mediacaster.

Screencast, XVidcap can grab MythTV:

http://www.arkki.info/wordpress/?p=13

http://www.arkki.info/howto/Digi-TV/xvidcap_mythtv.mpeg.tar.gz

Screencast:

http://www.arkki.info/wordpress/?p=11

Vidcast:

http://www.arkki.info/wordpress/?p=9

Podcast:

http://www.arkki.info/wordpress/?p=8

Excitement is that you can stream everything on one page with one plugin.

Ubuntu Screencast use this plugin, too - http://screencasts.ubuntu.com/

Of course you can use ogg-files for all this, but then you lose
streaming feature.

So if you plan educate people to use Ubuntu Studio, this can be a way to
do it.

Best Regards Asmo Koskinen.

1. Kino can upload files to Blip TV.

http://www.kinodv.org/article/view/156/1/13/

2. And Miro can download.

http://www.getmiro.com/

Miro is little bit broken in Ubunut Studio , you need Iced Tea Java, not
a default one.

1 /usr/bin/gij-4.2
2 /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
*+ 3 /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-icedtea/jre/bin/java

http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=3646444&postcount=9

3. And then there is Flumotion for firewire cameras:

http://wingolog.org/?p=159

Flumotion works great in fast network (gigabit), even with thin clients, this is at my home, test environment:
