Open-vm-tools needs a quick fix
 

If someone is looking for a low hanging bug that is in need of a clean
patch, bug #278711 [1] comes with a proposed fix that needs to be
applied and verified. Without it, it is reported that the open-vm-tools
package that is in universe for intrepid won't compile...
