A correction – this patch is already in Precise, but missed in Oneiric. Please consider to pull it in Oneiric.

Subject: [Oneiric, Precise SRU] Fix overwhelming package power limit notification

*

*

It was complained that there are overwhelming package power limit notification warnings in
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36182

*

The reason is the distro kernel doesn't have overwhelming package power limit notification fix in upstream commit:

*

commit 29e9bf1841e4f9df13b4992a716fece7087dd237

Author: Fenghua Yu <fenghua.yu@intel.com>

Date:** Fri Nov 4 13:31:23 2011 -0700

*

*** x86, mce, therm_throt: Don't report power limit and package level thermal throttle events in mcelog

*

This patch is in upstream kernel starting from v3.3, but isn’t CCed stable kernel.

*

Please consider to include this patch to Oneiric and Precise.

*

Thanks,

Yingying
