i have a hp infrared RC6 remote,
it was working out-of-the-box with kernel linux-image-3.2.0-24-generic,
but doesnt work any more with linux-image-3.2.0-25-generic

Ubuntu 12.04 x64
linux-image-3.2.0-25-generic = 3.2.0-25.40

linux-image-3.2.0-24-generic = 3.2.0-24.38

This looks like a regression. Could you please take a look at bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1013647

It's a similar issue and may be the same one you're hitting.

Sorry, I completely misunderstood your initial email -- I skipped the
part where you refer the "infrared remote" :-)

Could you please open a bug on launchpad about this bug?
