Default SD Card Reader Bug -- SRU Possible?

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to release a fix for LP Bug #530277
(0cf2:6250 ENE Technology, Inc. card reader not supported) ?

https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/530277

Currently working on a case, and I was able to reproduce it. I asked
around and was told you guys would be better equipped to know if it's
SRU'able for 10.10 and/or 10.04.

Thanks, cheers.

AFAIR this is a completely separate driver in 2.6.36 or .37. So the regression
potential would be near zero. As it is enablement, I personally would rather
target for 10.04 but if it is not much additional work 10.10 might be an option,
too (this is more influenced by the need of concentrating on the next release).

I will have a look how well it fits in.

Hi Moustafa,

while looking into the options for a backport, the current upstream driver
showed rather serious stability issues[1]. So I would defer any backporting
activities until the upstream driver looks to be ready for a stable release.
It does not make much sense to me to backport a driver knowing that people will
run into problems.
