Natty kernel repository
Some of you may have noticed the appearance of the Natty kernel
repository a few weeks ago. I think it is now time to get serious about the next release since Maverick is pretty well in the can. git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-natty.git This is a development kernel which is rebased frequently against Linus' upstream repository at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git. If that doesn't make sense to you, then start reading the material at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel, in particular https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Dev. The Natty kernel source package won't be uploaded until after the Natty release pocket opens for business, so you're on your own for building binaries. That also implies the ABI won't change until we start doing official uploads. Beware of external modules! I've created a dropped.txt file in the repo that is a list of the patches that didn't survive the transition from Maverick (attached here for your viewing convenience). If there is something in that list that is important to you, then by all means send a patch to this mailing list. rtg -- Tim Gardner tim.gardner@canonical.com UBUNTU: ubuntu: AUFS -- aufs2 standalone patch for linux-2.6.34 UBUNTU: SAUCE: AppArmor: -- mainline 2010-06-23 UBUNTU: SAUCE: AppArmor 2.4 compatibility patch UBUNTU: [Upstream] Input: evdev - convert to dynamic event buffer UBUNTU: [Upstream] Input: evdev - use driver hint to compute size of event buffer UBUNTU: [Upstream] Add support for the ATIF ACPI method to the radeon driver perf probe: Support tracing an entry of array perf probe: Support static and global variables UBUNTU: SAUCE: AppArmor: -- sync to AppArmor mainline 2010-07-27 UBUNTU: SAUCE: AppArmor: -- sync to AppArmor mainline 2010-07-29 UBUNTU: SAUCE: AppArmor 2.4 compatibility patch Input: introduce MT event slots x86 platform driver: intelligent power sharing driver UBUNTU: SAUCE: Bring in staging/lirc from 2.6.36 UBUNTU: SAUCE: Update ir-core to linuxtv/other which should be merged for 2.6.36.
