Default is there no package containing the raw "vmlinux" kernel image?

undoubtedly a trivial question for this list but i'd like to
download (for debugging purposes) the raw, uncompressed vmlinux kernel
image file corresponding to the running kernel on my 10.04 system. i
originally thought this would be a simple matter but, after some
searching, it would appear that no such package exists:

can someone clarify that there's no simple download that will give
me what i'm after? thanks.
