What happens if someone logs in and their chosen background picture
can't be found? If the answer is anything other than "it reverts to the
OS default (or "it uses a cached version, and if that's missing too, it
reverts to the OS default"), that's a bug that can be fixed. Once it's
fixed, you can change the OS default at will.

Hi,

The usual way would be to update the schemas so new configurations use
the new naming and to keep a compatibility image or symlink
