linux to windows Connectivity is slow
Hi All,
I am facing an issue in my organization. The issue is when i am trying to ping to windows 2003 standard 64 bit server i am getting the following response. * 64 bytes from 172.17.0.19: icmp_seq=1 ttl=128 time=2.05 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.19: icmp_seq=2 ttl=128 time=0.229 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.19: icmp_seq=3 ttl=128 time=0.244 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.19: icmp_seq=4 ttl=128 time=0.227 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.19: icmp_seq=5 ttl=128 time=0.230 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.19: icmp_seq=6 ttl=128 time=0.222 ms --- 172.17.0.19 ping statistics --- 6 packets transmitted, 6 received, 0% packet loss, time 4999ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.222/0.535/2.058/0.681 ms * * but when i am trying to ping any flavour of linux i am getting the following response 64 bytes from 172.17.0.11: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.086 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.11: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.075 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.11: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.072 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.11: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=0.073 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.11: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=0.073 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.11: icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=0.092 ms 64 bytes from 172.17.0.11: icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=0.137 ms --- 172.17.0.11 ping statistics --- 7 packets transmitted, 7 received, 0% packet loss, time 5999ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.072/0.086/0.137/0.024 ms * I had checked by conecting the windows and linux servers through cross over cables and also the windows servers have also been formatted but still no conclusion is there *sysctl -p is net.ipv4.ip_forward = 0 net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter = 1 net.ipv4.conf.default.accept_source_route = 0 kernel.sysrq = 0 kernel.core_uses_pid = 1 net.ipv4.tcp_syncookies = 1 kernel.msgmnb = 65536 kernel.msgmax = 65536 kernel.shmmax = 4294967295 kernel.shmall = 268435456 net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_time = 10 net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_intvl = 10 net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_probes = 2 * This issue is creating a lots of problem in my working need your help * Thanks and Regards * Abhishek Agarwal -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list |

My second thought is that if there truly is an issue, it's in the network tuning on the Windows systems, not on your Linux systems.
