Default password and account lockout of a user

Hi,

For on a redhat box i want to recover/change a users password which
the password is forgotten, the acoount is lockout and root password is
unknown

Default password and account lockout of a user

Single user mode. At grub you can add an init=1 or boot -s or just add
single at the end.

Better yet, ask the admin who do knows the root password.

Please read your message from the point of view of someone not familiar with your situation. This sounds an awful lot like you want to hack an account.
