Default RHEV Manager ony runs on windows 2003?

Hi all,

I have found this doc repository:
http://www.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/

and reading the doc I have seen this:

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager provides a graphical user
interface to administer the
physical and logical resources within the virtual environment
infrastructure. It can be used to manage
provisioning, connection protocols, user sessions, virtual machine pools,
images and high availability/
clustering. The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager runs on Windows
2003 server in clustered
mode, with active-standby configuration.

is it true that the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager runs on
windows 2003 server.

I canīt believe it!!!

Anyone can confirm this???

Thanks,

ESG

100% true. They are working on porting it over to java/Linux. You
are not required to use the manager to use KVM is my understanding so
you don't lose functionality from xen. If you don't want to install
windows.

Hy,

yes, its the same as VMware Virtual Center Server (also a Windows Server
System). But I think it could be installed on a VM and must not be a
physical System (maybe that helps).
