Somehow the command below satisfies my need, I am not sure if there is a better

I've been trying some wget options to download
"http://archive.kernel.org/fedora-archive/core/updates/5/i386/" (only the
contents of i386)
to my current directory but it only downloads index.html and robots.txt


# pwd
/5/i386
# wget -r -nc http://archive.kernel.org/fedora-archive/core/updates/5/i386/

it creates the directory hierarchy and downloads index and robots only. I just
want to get all the files that are inside the i386.

what options should i use?

I advice you to use an search engine (i heard google is one of those
things), since you will probably find your answer there within minutes.

It's not about commands. Archlinux is a different distribution than
linux mint. This list mainly involves arch related discussions.

First, you should learn how to use google. Second, if I were you (I
mean to be new in GNU/Linux world), I'd first go with some GUI
downloader, such as freerapid or minitube.

youtube-dl is a commandline one in arch and mint repos and keeps the
source file. Mini-tube is cool and saves copying the url but converts it
to mp4, as if everyone wants to use mp4 and conversions equal data loss.

Every so often the youtube api changes and these programs need fixing.

Um, for downloading a youtube video with wget, no, no they wouldn't be.
